Types of treadmills

Treadmills are divided into two main groups: mechanical and electrical.

Mechanical treadmills.

In mechanical treadmill leaf moves through your own efforts involved. While You walk/run, the canvas moves, stop – the canvas stops. Such simulators are easier and cheaper than electric. Motorized treadmill allows you to most accurately simulate a natural walking or running. On a mechanical treadmill there is no need to run constantly at a set rate. However, the need to bring

the equipment in motion on their own creates additional load on the legs that not everyone likes and not all shown (for example, varicose veins, problems with the joints or the spine).

Since mechanical treadmills belong to the lower price segment, they only allow you to keep track of such basic indicators as: heart rate (pulse), speed, workout time, length, distance travelled and calories burned.

Mechanical paths differ according to the system load and braking. Motorized treadmill with magnetic mechanism loads are considered more contemporary and are different from the more usual smooth running belt. The walking belt on a conventional mechanical tracks will move smoothly.

Electric treadmills.

Electric treadmills are driven by an electric motor. This allows you to remotely install any speed of movement of the blade and deck angle. On the control panel except the main indicators, there is a choice of a training program or even create your own. However, electric treadmills require mandatory connection to the mains supply and more expensive in comparison with mechanical equipment.

Electric treadmills can be divided into several classes:

Economy class

Treadmills economy class is equipped with an engine capacity of up to 1.5 HP speed of the walking belt varies from 1.5 to 15 km/h. All the controls are manual. The width of the walking belt 38-40 cm compared to mechanical walkways provide a more comfortable classes. These treadmills are used primarily in the home.

Amateur class

The engine in these treadmills brushed DC, power 2 HP, the speed of the blade varies from 1.5 to 16 km/h. The width of the walking belt 40-45, see the control Panel is not only recording functions (heart rate, speed, distance, calories), but also control. It contains pre-programmed workouts, as well as the possibility of creating your own. Control the speed of movement of the blade and the deck angle is electric. Treadmills Amateur class is designed for operation both at home and in the small fitness clubs.

Class Hi-End

Treadmills in this class are equipped with brushed DC motors or brushless power from 2 to 3 HP Speed paintings from 0.8 to 18 km/h. The width of the walking belt 45-50 see an Important distinction from Amateur class is the interactivity (the ability to control heart rate), i.e., the computer that coordinates the load so that the heart rate of the user has not exceeded the preset limit. Such simulators are designed for use at home, in rehabilitation and medical centers, fitness clubs with low bandwidth.

Functionally, professional treadmills differ from simulators Hi-End no different. However, professional treadmills . due to the peculiarities of the design, frame, etc. can be used in fitness clubs around the clock.
